Visit The National Wallace Monument to learn about the man who inspired a nation – watch costumed actors perform Tales from the Battlefield before exploring the exhibition galleries inside the Monument to see the famous Wallace Sword. Reach the Crown at the top of the 220ft tower for breath-taking views in all directions.

Tales from the Battlefield

As you listen to costumed actors performing Tales from the Battlefield, you will be transported back to one of the most dramatic periods in Scottish history, when Stirling was at the centre of all the action!

Watch what happens when two soldiers from opposing sides meet after the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Will they fight – or agree to a truce?

Presentations at:

11:15am, 12:00pm, 12:45pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:15pm

Each presentation lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Performances which are scheduled to take place in the open areas surrounding the Monument may be rescheduled (or cancelled) in the event of inclement weather. During the Winter period the opening of the Monument can be affected by adverse weather, and the building may also be closed to visitors on occasions to enable essential maintenance work to be undertaken. The National Wallace Monument closes as 4:00pm, last recommended admission is 45 minutes prior to closing.
