International Overdose Awareness Day

On Thursday 31st August 2023, The National Wallace Monument will be illuminated purple in support of International Overdose Awareness Day. This is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.

Recovery Scotland hope to raise greater awareness of overdose and spread the message that overdose is preventable by lighting up buildings purple as a visual reminder of recovery.
