Group Visit Information
Please see further information below about your visit to The National Wallace Monument.
Location
The National Wallace Monument is located on Hillfoots Road, Causewayhead, Stirling FK9 5LF. Information on Directions and Transport Links to the Monument can be found here.
On Arrival
On arrival at the Monument, groups should proceed to the reception desk located inside the Tower and a member of staff will check the group in. Tickets are not required for group bookings.
Legends café at the car park is managed by a different organisation so please do not enter this building to check in.
Please ensure that the group arrives at the front entrance of the Monument at the start time of their entry slot. If they arrive earlier or later than the confirmed start time, they may have to wait to enter the Monument.
During busy times, if the group is more than 15 minutes late, and have not informed us, then there maybe an extended wait time to enter the Monument.
Large groups will be split into smaller, more manageable sizes to not overwhelm the staircase and so entry into each level of the Monument is staggered.
The last admission to enter The Monument is one hour before closing, if a group arrives after this time they will not be permitted entry.
Bags & Luggage
The maximum bag size allowed inside the Monument is 55.9 x 35.6 x 22.9cm. It is recommended that bags are not brought into the Monument and are left on the coaches.
Due to the nature of the spiral staircase inside the Monument, visitors will be asked to remove small backpacks when passing other visitors on the stairs if bags are unable to be left on the coach.
Shuttle Bus
A free shuttle bus service (with 9 seats available) regularly operates between the Car Park and the Monument (4-minute journey) or visitors can follow The Wallace Way (10 -15 minute walk), on the main path to reach the tower. Please note that the pathway is steep some areas.
The shuttle bus service is not in operation between 1:00pm and 1:30pm. Visitors are therefore required to walk up to the tower during this time.
Inside The Monument
The galleries within the Monument, and The Crown at the top of the building, are accessed via a narrow, spiral staircase, with a total of 246 steps. Further information on Accessibility can be found here. Visitors should keep to the right hand side of the stairs at all times.
Terms & Conditions
Once payment has been made for a group reservation, all tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
Please note: The booking start time is the arrival time at the entrance area directly outside the Monument building. Groups must factor in the time to walk from the car park to the Monument to ensure they arrive on time. If the group arrives later or earlier than the confirmed start time, they may have to wait to enter the Monument.
