A Story of Passion
The Monument is open each day from 9:30am to 5:00pm – and there’s lots to see and do.
Conquer the 246-step spiral staircase and explore The Hall of Arms, The Hall of Heroes and The Royal Chamber to discover the remarkable story of Sir William Wallace. On reaching the top of the 220ft tower, experience breathtaking views in all directions from The Crown.

Scotland’s National Hero
Our final actor performances of 2023 will take place on Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Wednesday 11th, Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th, Wednesday 18th, Saturday 21st, and Sunday 22nd October.
Learn about the man who inspired a nation – and discover who William Wallace was, where he came from, and how he fought for the people of Scotland.
The performances are on throughout each day at 11:30am, 12:15pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm, 4:15pm. Each presentation lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Duncarron Medieval Village
On Thursday 12th and Thursday 19th October, the team from Duncarron Medieval Village will be at the Monument hosting axe throwing and archery. Visitors can learn how to throw an axe and take part in archery – based on Wallace’s personal seal, he may have been an archer.
The activities will take place from 11:00am until 4:00pm each day. They are free to participate in and are suitable for visitors age 6 or over.
Autumn Woodland Walks
Explore the ancient woodland walks and nature trails on The Abbey Craig. Many of the paths leading to stunning viewpoints of the surrounding landscape, overlooking the city of Stirling and towards Stirling Castle.
The Abbey Craig is open to the public all year round, and visitors do not require an admission ticket to explore the area.
