Actor Performance

William Wallace was a patriot, martyr and Guardian of Scotland. He campaigned for freedom and fought the army of King Edward I. Wallace’s greatest victory was at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297. However, less than a year later he was defeated at the Battle of Falkirk.

Following a period in hiding Wallace was betrayed and captured on 5th August 1305. He was taken to London where, after a speedy trial, he was cruelly executed on 23rd August 1305.

To commemorate the anniversary of Wallace’s execution – our costumed actors will tell the story of the betrayal that led to his capture and the unfair trial that ultimately ended his life.

Performances Times

Performances of ‘Wallace’s Execution’ are on throughout the day at 11:30am, 12:15pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm, 4:15pm. Each presentation lasts approximately 15 minutes.
